Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY - Waverly used balanced scoring to sweep Union Springs in IAC boys bowling action, while the Lady Wolverines dropped a 3-1 decision here Tuesday afternoon at the Valley Bowling Center.
BOYS
Waverly 4, US / PB 0
The Wolverines had five bowlers throw between 535 and 564 in the sweep.
Waverly won the first game 1,030-803, then won narrow decisions of 846-795, and 870-860 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,746 to 2,458.
Sophomore Zach Vanderpool led Waverly with a 564 series, including a 220 in the first game, while junior Ashton Pritchard shot a 561, and freshman Dom Wood had a 550.
Freshman Tristan Campbell added a 536 in the sweep, including a 233 in the first game, while sophomore Trenton Sindoni had a 535, including a 208 in the first game, and junior Landyn Gunderson tacked on a 437 series.
Brandon Young led US / PB with a 553 and Dylan Howell added a 546.
GIRLS
US / PB 3, Waverly 1
Waverly won the first game 905-798, but US / PB rallied to win the next two by scores of 857-799 and 857-763 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,512 to 2,467.
Sophomore Rachel Houseknecht led the Lady Wolverines with a 565 series, including a 220 in the first game, while junior Victoria Houseknecht shot a 516, and junior Shantilly Decker had a 477.
Senior Sage Garrison shot a 466 for Waverly, and freshman Serenity Conklin added a 445.
Colleen Jump led US / PB with a 646 series.
Waverly travels to Lansing Thursday.
