IAC BOWLING: WAVERLY BOYS, GIRLS POST SWEEPS OF LANSING (2021-12-17)

IITHACA — Sophomore Zach Vanderpool banged out a 600 series to lead the Waverly boys to a sweep of Lansing here Thursday afternoon in IAC bowling action, while the Lady Wolverines posted a sweep of the short-handed Lady Bobcats.

BOYS
Waverly 4, Lansing 0

Vanderpool rolled a 655 on games of 237, 175, and 243 to lead the Wolverines in a sweep.

Waverly won the first game 1,031-847, then followed it up with wins of 888-797 and 907-848 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,826 to 2,492.

Sophomore Trenton Sindoni added a 536 series for the Wolverines, while junior Ashton Pritchard shot a 519, including a 206 in the first game, senior Cody Blackwell had a 507, freshman Dom Wood had a 506, including a 223 in the second game, and 8th-grader Tristan Campbell chipped in with a 466, including a 213 in the first game.

Hunter Hamilton led Lansing with a 569 series.

GIRLS
Waverly 4, Lansing 0

Sophomore Rachel Houseknecht led Waverly to a sweep of Lansing, which had just three bowlers.

Rachel Houseknecht shot a 558 to pace the Lady Wolverines, while junior Shantilly Decker had a 505, junior Victoris Houseknecht had a 468, freshman Serenity Decker added a 462, and senior Sage Garrison tacked on a 421.

Kara Armstrong led Lansing with a 461.

Waverly is off until the New Year.
