DRYDEN — The Westbrook sisters — junior Kennedy and freshman Addison — combined for 41 points, and the Waverly defense shut down Dryden in a 61-23 win here Friday night in IAC Large School girls basketball crossover action.

Kennedy Westbrook scored eight points in the first quarter, and Addison Westbrook added seven points. Both the Westbrooks and senior Olivia NIttinger made 3-pointers in the opening stanza as the Lady Wolverines raced out to a 20-5 lead.

Kennedy Westbrook scored eight points in the third quarter, including a 4-for-4 effort from the free-throw line, Addison Westbrook added four points, and Nittinger knocked down another 3-pointer to fuel a 21-5 blitz that extended the lead to 41-10 at the half.

Kennedy Westbrook led all scorers with 26 points, including a trio of 3-pointers and a 7-for-7 effort from the free-throw line. Addison Westbrook added 15 points, while Nittinger had six points, sophomore Paige Robinson added five points, and Ashlen Croft chipped in with four points.

Sindi Pinckney led Dryden with nine points.

Waverly, now 7-3, returns to action Wednesday when its hosts Newark Valley, the state’s top-ranked Class C team.
