THE VALLEY — A wrestling match at Athens, and a girls basketball game at Tioga are the only home events for Valley teams on Tuesday.

WRESTLING
Wyalusing (11-4) at Athens (4-2), 6 p.m. junior high start: The Wildcats, minus four starters, are coming off a 39-36 win over North Penn-Liberty, while the Rams dropped a decision to Benton Saturday.

You never know what coaches will do in duals, in terms of bumping wrestlers around, but here are the potential match-ups:

BOYS BASKETBALL
Waverly at Newark Valley (2-8), 6 p.m. JV start: The Wolverines are coming off a 64-53 win at S-VE Saturday afternoon, while the Cardinals dropped a 57-46 decision at Whitney Point Friday.

In their first meeting, Waverly rolled to a 79-32 win at home.

Tioga (6-6) at Candor (9-2), 6 p.m. JV start: The Tigers are coming off a 62-55 win at Union Springs Friday,  while the Indians rolled to a 61-35 win over Southern Cayuga

In their first meeting, Candor won at Tioga, 53-49.

GIRLS
Athens (6-3) at NP-Mansfield (4-7), 6 p.m. JV start: The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 35-28 loss at Troy Thursday, while the Lady Tigers dropped a 40-25 decision to arch-rival Wellsboro.

Sayre (0-6) at Cowanesque Valley (0-7), 6 p.m. JV start: The Redskins are coming off a 57-20 loss at Wyalusing Thursday, while the Lady Indians are coming off a 49-42 loss to North Penn-Liberty.

Candor (1-7) at Tioga (1-10), 6 p.m. JV start: The Lady Tigers are coming off a 64-28 loss to state-ranked Union Springs, while the Lady Indians dropped a 43-32 decision to Southern Cayuga.

Candor won the first meeting of the longtime IAC rivals, 40-23, for its only win of the season to this point.
