WAVERLY — Senior Dylan Slater led a trio of Tioga bowlers with 600 series in a 3-1 win over Groton here Thursday afternoon at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Lady Tigers dropped a 3-1 decision.

BOYS
Tioga 3, Groton 1

Groton won the first game, but Tioga answered by winning the next two games and total pinfall for a 3-1 win.

Dylan Slater paced the Tigers with a 627 series on games of 206, 225, and 196, while 8th-grader Nick Slater rolled a 625 on games of 210, 237, and 178, and senior Rocco Fariello had a 603 on games of 201, 202, and 200.

Junior Gage Cain had a 523 for Tioga, while junior Bradley Webb added a 513, and junior Frank Chapman tacked on a 504.

Cameron Brehm led Groton with a 681 series on games of 228, 234, and 219, and Mike Brehm added a 599.

GIRLS
Groton 3, Tioga 1

Tioga won the first game, but Groton answered with wins in the next two games — and total pinfall — for a 3-1 win Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers won the opening game 696-665, but the Lady Indians answered with wins of 741-619 and 784-681 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,190 to 1,996.

Junior Caroline Chapman led Tioga with a 430 series, while Chloe Gillett had a 410, junior BobbiJo Tarbox had a 398, and junior Jamie Card had a 378.

Senior Rachel Feeko added a 356 for the Lady Tigers, and sophomore Allie Creller tacked on a 316.

Emily Cardigan led Groton with 612.

Tioga returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Watkins Glen.
