TOWANDA —  The Waverly Recreation 3rd- & 4th-grade girls basketball teams won the season-ending Northern Tier Youth Basketball League tournament championship here Sunday.

Waverly edged Towanda, 10-8, in its first game of the day, with Addison Foster leading the way with four points.

Sophia Dorsey pumped in 16 points to lead Waverly to an 18-7 win over Sayre in its second game.

Raygane Oakes scored six points, and Foster added four in Waverly’s 10-2 win over Troy.

In the championship game, Oakes scored 11 points, and Dorsey added eight to lead Waverly to a 19-17 win over Northeast Bradford.
