PREMIER HOCKEY: WAVERLY'S BERNATAVITZ SIGNS TO PLAY WITH JUNIOR ENFORCERS IN 2022-23 (2022-04-15)

ELMIRA - Waverly native Joey Bernatavitz has re-signed to play the 2022-23 season with the Junior Enforcers Premier team here, according to head coach Glen Patterson.

Bernatavitz began the 2021/22 season playing at Chenango Valley High School, where he posted 23 points in 13 games during the season’s first half.

Making the jump to the USPHL Premier and signing with Elmira over Christmas break proved a fruitful experience for Bernatavitz. After showing off all the tools of his game and proving himself as a threat up and down the ice, he posted his first junior goal in the season’s final week.

"His development just over his eight weeks in neon green should be noticed, as Bernatavitz looks to be a big part of Elmira’s offense this next season," said Patterson.

"I am very excited to be playing in Elmira again this season, as well as continuing to work with Coach Patterson" said Bernatavitz. "I believe the future is bright for this team, and I feel so fortunate to be here for what’s to come. This season can’t get here soon enough."

"Joey is someone who I believe will return a different player" pointed out Patterson. "He is someone that leaves it all on the ice. He is a tireless worker that has great speed. I look forward to working with him all summer."

The Junior Enforcers organization is thrilled to be adding a second team at the USPHL Elite level in 2022-23.

Coach Patterson is hosting spring skates at First Arena over the next couple months for all 2002-06 birth-year players interested in junior hockey as a build up to summer camp June 3-5.
