Valley Sports Report
TIOGA CENTER — After a two-week layoff, the Tioga softball team showed no signs of rust on the diamond Wednesday.

A trio of Tioga pitchers combined on a no-hitter, and the Lady Tigers banged 19 hits in a 21-0, five-inning win over Newfield in IAC Small School Division action.

Their last win — on April 6 — was a 20-0 shutout at Newfield.

Senior Alissa Hine struck out three in two perfect innings in the circle to earn the win, while freshman Erin Luther fanned three and walked one in two innings of relief. Eighth-grader RaeAnne Feeko closed out the game with one strikeout and one walk in one inning.

Tioga jumped on top immediately with seven runs in the home half of the first inning.

Senior Abby Foley led off the game with a slap single, and scored on an RBI double Feeko, who scored one pitch later on an error to make it 2-0.

M.J. Thetga, who ended up on second on the error, scored on an RBI triple by Luther. Senior Julia Bellis followed with an RBI single to make it 4-0.

After Bellis stole second, junior Felicia Lantz rapped an RBI double, then scored on a passed ball to extend the lead to 6-0.

Austyn Vance re-ignited the rally with a single, stole second, and senior Molly Bombard capped the rally with an RBI single up the middle.

The Lady Tigers added three more runs in the second inning in a rally that featured an RBI double by Lantz, and an RBI triple by Vance.

Feeko, Lantz, and Hine added RBI singles in the third inning, and Feeko belted a three-run inside-the-park home run to cap the sixth-run as Tioga pushed its lead to 19-0.

Bombard drove in the final run of the game for Tioga in the fourth with a two-out RBI double.

Lantz was 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI, and Feeko had three hits, including a home run and a double, three runs scored, and five RBI to pace Tioga’s offensive barrage.

Foley was 3-for-3 with three runs scored in the win, while Vance tripled and singled, scored four runs, and knocked in one run, Luther tripled and singled, scored three runs, and drove in one run, and Bombard doubled and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI.

Bellis singled twice, scored a pair of runs, and drove in two runs for Tioga, while Hine singled and had three RBI, MJ Thetga drove in one run, and Megan Shumway scored two runs.

Tioga, now 3-0, travels to Candor Friday.
