DEPOSIT — Deposit-Hancock raced out to a big lead early en route to a 12-6 win over Tioga here Saturday morning in non-league softball action.

The Lady Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by junior M.J. Thetga, but the Lady Lumberjacks answered with two runs in the home half of the first, another run in the second, and six more in the fourth.

D-H scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 11-1 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Thetga lined a two-run single, and Tioga took advantage of a pair of D-H errors as part of a five-run inning to close the gap to 11-6.

D-H added another run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 12-6.

Tioga was retired in order in the top of the seventh inning.

Thetga singled twice and had three RBI to lead Tioga at the plate, while senior Austyn Vance tripled and scored one run, senior Abby Foley singled and scored two runs, and 8th-grader RaeAnne Feeko singled and scored one run.

MacKenzie Williams and Megan Shumway each scored one run for the Lady Tigers, and freshman Erin Luther and senior Julia Bellis each had one RBI.

Luther and Feeko shared the pitching duties for Tioga.

Tioga, now 4-1, hosts Odessa-Montour Monday.
