IAC SOFTBALL: LUTHER SPINS NO-HITTER TO LEAD TIOGA IN 19-1 WIN OVER O-M (2022-04-26)

ODESSA — Freshman Erin Luther tossed a no-hitter, and also had a big day at the plate to lead Tioga to a 19-1 five-inning win over Odessa-Montour here Tuesday afternoon in IAC South Small School Division softball action.

Luther fanned 15 and walked five in five innings to earn the win.

Luther homered, tripled, and singled, scored three runs, and had three RBI, and junior Felicia Lantz homered and singled, scored one run, and had four RBI to pace Tioga’s 14-hit attack.

Senior Abby Foley had two hits and scored two runs in the win, while senior Austyn Vance tripled, scored three runs, and drove in one run, junior Megan Shumway singled and scored three runs, and senior Molly Bombard singled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run.

Junior M.J. Thetga singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs for the Lady Tigers, while senior Julia Bellis singled and scored three runs, senior Alissa Hine doubled and drove in two runs, and 8th-grader RaeAnne Feeko singled, scored one run, and drove in one run.

The Lady Tigers took the lead immediately with five runs in the top of the first inning, then added eight more in the second.

Tioga, now 6-1, returns to action Wednesday at unbeaten S-VE.
