COLLEGE SOFTBALL: TIOGA GRAD WESSELS FINISHES FRESHMAN SEASON STRONG AT PITT-BRADFORD (2022-05-08)

BRADFORD, Pa. — Tioga grad Kindra Wessels, a freshman on the PItt-Bradford softball season, finished strong in her first season on the collegiate diamond.

In her final two weeks, Wessels hit .350 (14 hits in 40 Abs) in 11 games, with eight runs scored, one double, one triple, six RBI, and three stolen bases..

In the circle over the final two weeks, Wessels was 5-1 with a 4.20 ERA. She pitched three complete-game wins, including a three-hit shutout against LaRoche.

In her only sub-par outing during that stretch, she allowed 11 earned runs in 6 2/3 innings in a 14-7 loss to Penn State=-Altoona. Without that start, her ERA was 2.73.

For the season, Wessels hit .304 (28 hits in 92 ABs) with two doubles, one triple, nine RBI, 16 runs scored, and seven stolen bases.

In the circle, Wessels appeared in 21 games, including 15 starts, and posted a 7-8 record with a 4.14 ERA. She struck out 47 and walked 59 in 96 1/3 innings.
