SAYRE — Alissa Hine tossed a two-hitter, and Tioga banged out 13 hits in a 12-2 five-inning win over Sayre here Saturday afternoon in the nightcap of the softball “Battle at the Border.”

Hine allowed two runs — one earned — on two hits, while striking out four and walking one in five innings to earn the win.

Tioga took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a one-out triple by RaeAnne Feeko, and an RBI single by M.J. Thetga.

The Lady Tigers extended its lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Hine started things off with a one-out, line-drive single, and scored on an RBI triple by Austyn Vance, who scooted home moments later on an error.

Tioga extended its advantage to 7-0 in the top of the third inning in a four-run rally highlighted by a two-run double by Hine, and Vance’s second RBI triple of the game.

Sayre got on the board in the home half of the third inning. Mercedes led off the inning with a single, and later scored on an RBI groundout off the bat of Abbie McGaughey.

The Lady Tigers scored two runs in the fourth inning after Sayre turned a double play to start the inning. With two outs, Thetga walked, and courtesy-runner Megan Vance scored on an RBI triple by Erin Luther, who scored on an RBI single by Julia Bellis to make it 9-1.

Raegan Parrish drove home Sayre’s second run with an RBI groundout to close the gap to 9-2.

Tioga scored three more runs in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI singles by Molly Bombard and a pair of passed balls.

Hine pitched around a one-out double by Olivia Corbin in the bottom of the fifth inning, ending the game with a strikeout.

Austyn Vance had three hits, including a pair of triples, scored two runs, and drove in two runs to pace Tioga’s 14-hit attack, while Hine doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, and Thetga singled twice and knocked in one run.

Bombard singled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Luther tripled, scored one run, and knocked in two runs, Feeko tripled and scored one run, Bellis singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, and Foley and Felicia Lantz each singled and scored one run. Megan Vance scored two runs.

Haggerty singled and scored one run, and Corbin doubled to account for Sayre’s two hits, while Makenna Garrison scored one run, and Parrish and McGaughey each had one RBI.

Tioga improves to 12-5 on the season, while Sayre falls to 0-16.
