SECTION IV BOYS GOLF: SICKLER, ROE LEAD TIOGA TO THIRD-PLACE FINISH AT CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022-05-26)

DELHI — Sophomores Evan Sickler and Tyler Roe had top-10 finishes to lead Tioga to a third-place finish here Thursday afternoon at the Section IV, Class D boys golf championships on the College Golf Course at SUNY Delhi.

“We didn’t play our best today on an unfamiliar and tough Delhi course,” said Tioga coach Dave Sickler.

Union Springs claimed the team title with a five-player aggregate score of 463, well ahead of runner-up Greene, which carded a 490. Tioga shot a 496 to finish third in the eight-team field.

Sickler finished ninth with a round of 94 on the 6,078-yard, par-72 Delhi course, while Roe carded a 95 to finish 10th.

Freshman Ben Davis carded a 97 for the Tigers, while freshman James Luther had a 103, and sophomore Levi Bellis chipped in with a 105.

Margarettsville’s Ryan Sanford shot a 79 to win the Class D individual title.
