COLLEGE BASEBALL: SAYRE GRAD HORTON OFF TO HOT START FOR MANSFIELD DESTROYERS (2022-06-16)

Brayden Horton doubled in three at-bats in the Mansfield Destroyers’ 11-6 loss to Hornell in the first game of a doubleheader here Thursday in New York Collegiate Baseball action.
Horton, who will play at Division I Liberty, walked in a pinch-hitting appearance in Mansfield’s 10-3 loss in the night cap.
On the season, Horton is hitting .500 (9 hits in 18 ABs) with four doubles, one triple, four runs scored, 10 RBI, and one stolen base. He is tied for league lead in doubles, is second in the league in RBI, third in batting average, and has hit safely in five of six games.
Horton had back-to-back four-RBI games in losses to Genesee and Cortland on Monday and Wednesday.
The Destroyers are 1-7 on the season, and are currently on a seven-game losing streak. They host Dansville Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
