ATHENS — Waverly notched a pair of wins Wednesday night, while Tioga and Athens suffered their first losses of the Waverly Summer League basketball season to leave the three Valley teams in a tie atop the standings at 4-1 — 1/2-game ahead of Mansfield, Elmira and Troy, all 3-1 on the season.

Waverly rolled to a 59-39 win over Watkins Glen, and edged Tioga 46-40.

The Tigers evened out the evening with a 42-27 win over Watkins Glen, while Athens dropped a 35-32 decision to Candor.
