COLLEGE BASEBALL: SAYRE GRAD HORTON RIDING SIX-GAME HIT STREAK FOR MANSFIELD DESTROYERS; LEADS LEAGUE IN HITTING (2022-07-03)

Brayden Horton has hit safely in six straight game, including a trio of multi-hit games, helping the Mansfield Destroyers to a 3-2-1 record in that span in in New York Collegiate Baseball action.
Horton started hit streak with a single and run scored in a 5-5 tie against the Syracuse Salt Cats on June 21.
On June 24, Horton tripled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs in a 13-7 win over the Syracuse Spartans.
On Monday, singled twice and drove in two runs in an 11-7 loss to Olean.
In a doubleheader on Tuesday, Horton singled and stole a base in Mansfield’s 17-2 loss at Olean. In the night cap, Horton had three hits, including his first home run, scored one run, and had two RBI, in a 4-1 win.
On Saturday, Horton singled in four-at-bats in an 8-7 home win against Genesee.
On the season, Horton his hitting a league-leading .417 (20 hits in 48 ABs) with four doubles, two triples, one home run, 16 RBI, nine runs scored, and three stolen bases.
Mansfield, now 5-14, hosts Olean Monday in a doubleheader.
