WAVERLY — Athens reeled off three wins in a row Thursday evening to win the Waverly Summer Basketball League junior varsity title.

The junior Wildcats knocked off Thomas A. Edison in the quarterfinals, then topped Towanda in the semifinals.

Athens best Troy in the championship game.

Troy advanced to the finals with wins over Wellsboro and Candor.

Waverly dropped a decision to Towanda in the quarterfinals.
