YOUTH BASEBALL: WAVERLY'S PIPHER HELPS FINGER LAKES FALCONS 12U TO TITLE (4 PHOTOS) (2022-08-12)
Valley Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — The Finger Lakes Falcons 12U travel baseball team, which includes Waverly’s Jack Pipher, outlasted the Pittsford Panthers, 9-8, to win the championships game of the “Falcons for a Cure” tournament here last weekend.
There were more than 60 teams in seven different age groups competing.
In the 8U age group, Sandlot Baseball won the title, 11-10, over Corning Elite.
In the 9U age group, the B.C. DirtDogs won 1-0 over The Smash Bro’s in the title game.
The Finger Lakes Falcons won the 10U title, 21-1, over the Ithaca Arsenal.
Geneva Elite edged Cyclones Baseball, 1-0, in the 11U title game.
In the 13U title game, the Clarence Heat beat the Finger Lakes Falcons, 14-2.
MAD Baseball won the 14U title with a 1-0 win over the Bomb Squad.
