WAVERLY — After splitting the first two sets, Waverly rolled to a pair wins for a 3-1 victory over Watkins Glen here Monday evening in IAC South Large School Division volleyball action.

The Lady Wolverines won the first set, 25-16, but the Lady Senecas bounced back to win the second set in a closely-contested, 25-23, decision. Waverly closed out the match with wins of 25-13 and 25-10.

Junior Erica Ryck led Waverly with 21 service points, including 11 aces, five digs, and one block, while junior Ashlen Croft had 15 points, including eight aces, and four kills, and freshman Brilynn Bellis had eight points (six aces), 15 digs, and two kills.

Senior Michaela Lauper had six points (two aces), 14 setter assists, seven digs, and two kills in the win, while sophomore Maddy Olmsted had four points (two aces), five digs, and three assists, sophomore Lillie Kirk added three points (two aces), five kills, and five digs, and junior Peyton Shaw chipped in with two points, four kills, and three digs.

Jocelyn Sisana led Watkins Glen with eight points, including three aces, and nine digs, while Chelsea Parson recorded seven points (two aces), Ava Barber had five digs, four kills, and two assists, and Sarah Jones added five points and four assists.

Waverly, now 7-1, returns to action Friday at O-M.

JV: Waverly swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-16 and 25-16, then won the extra set 25-22.

Zaelea Lane led Waverly with 10 points (four aces) and three assists, while Addison Hunt had 10 points (five aces), Maylee DeGraw had seven points (two aces), Ashlynn Dragoo had four points and three kills, Shylea Swank had four points (three aces), Adrianna Presher had three points (three aces), three kills, four assists, and two digs, Alayna Miller had three points (two aces) and four kills, Mady Briggs added three points, and Delaney Wheeler chipped in with two points.
