IAC BOYS BOWLING: TRIO OF WOLVERINES ROLL 600 SERIES IN SEASON-OPENING SWEEP OF LANSING (2022-11-29)

WAVERLY — Three Waverly bowlers, led by senior Zach Vanderpool, rolled 600 series in a season-opening sweep of Lansing here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division boys bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

Waverly opened with a 975-734 win in the first set, then reeled off wins of 1,022-738 and 1,019-915 for a total-pinfall victory of 3,016 to 2,387.

Vanderpool rolled a 640 series on games of 190, 234, and 216, while senior Ashton Pritchard shot a 635 on games of 219, 195, and 221, and freshman Tristan Campbell had a 614 series on games of 222, 187, and 205.

Senior Ethan Roberts shot a 557, including a 225 in the second game, for the Wolverines, while junior Carter Hayes added a 539, and junior Trenton Sindoni tacked on a 502.

Freshman Derek Johnson rolled a 573, including a 222 in the first game, and senior Mike Cole shot a 542 in exhibition.

Nicholas Binns led Lansing with a 555 series, and Tyler Paige added a 533.

Waverly hosts Union Springs Thursday.
