Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY - There are just a handful of games on the docket Friday night, with the Tioga girls basketball and Tioga bowling teams the only Valley teams hosting events.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Waverly (10-3 overall, 5-2 IAC Large) at Whitney Point (2-9, 2-4), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 58-46 loss to Newark Valley Wednesday, while the Lady Golden Eagles dropped a 45-41 decision to Trumansburg.
Groton (6-3, 5-3 IAC Small) at Tioga (1-12), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Lady Tigers are coming off a 40-39 win over Candor, while the Lady Indians dropped a 49-30 decision to Southern Cayuga Thursday
BOYS BASKETBALL
Tioga (6-4, 4-3 IAC Small) at Groton (7-5, 5-3), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Tigers are coming off a 55-54 win over Candor Friday, while the Indians topped Marathon, 81-74.
WRESTLING
Athens at Coal Cracker Tournament, 5 p.m. @ Lehighton, Pa.: The Wildcats will compete in one of the toughest tournaments in state in a 60-team field at the Coal Cracker.
Other District 4 teams include Sullivan County, Selinsgrove, Midd-West, Central Columbia, and Meadowbrook Christian.
