SECTION IV INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: BECHY, CHANDLER PACE WAVERLY'S EFFORTS AT QUINNEY INVITATIONAL (2023-01-22)
Valley Sports ReportITHACA — Senior Kayleb Bechy and junior Micah Chandler paced Waverly’s efforts here at the Quinney Indoor Track & Field Invitational Friday night at Ithaca College.
Bechy finished second in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.72 seconds, and Chandler was fourth in the 300-meter dash in a time of 38.08 seconds.
Bechy and Chandler teamed with senior Treyton Moore, and junior Charlie Larrabee to place sixth in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:51.9.
The foursome of senior Jon Price, juniors Nehemiah Anthony, and Braylon DeKay, and freshman Hayden Howe teamed to finish 15th in the 800-meter relay in a time of 1:50.26.
Moore placed 16th in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:36.42.
Chandler and Nehemiah also teamed with two others athletes from different school to finish third in the 4-by-55-meter shuttle relay in a time of 37.62 seconds.
GIRLSJunior Elizabeth had a pair of top-six finishes to lead the Lady Wolverines’ efforts at the Quinney Invite.
Vaughn finished sixth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:13.61.
She also teamed with seniors Abbey Knolles, Kelsey Ward, and Natalie Garrity to finish sixth in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:40.6.
Freshman Haylie Davenport finished seventh in the 1,500-meter race walk in a time of 9:09.2, while Knolles finished eighth in the 300-meter dash in a time of 46.64 seconds, and freshman Mackenzie Chamberlain was 15th in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:34.35.
Waverly returns to action Saturday at the Section IV Classic at Cornell University.
