WATKINS GLEN — Senior Victoria Houseknecht led the Lady Wolverines to a sweep, while senior Zach Vanderpool banged out a 600 series to lead the Waverly boys to a 3-1 win over Watkins Glen here Friday afternoon in IAC bowling action at Harborside Lanes.

GIRLS
Waverly 4, Watkins Glen

Victoria Houseknecht shot a 571 series, including a 202, to lead Waverly to a sweep of Watkins Glen.

The Lady Wolverines won the first two games by scores of 841-704 and 836-697, then edge the Lady Senecas, 759-741, in the third game for a total-pinfall win of 2,436 to 2,142.

Senior Shantilly Decker added a 490 in the sweep, while junior Rachel Houseknecht shot a 465, sophomore Serenity Conklin had a 444, 7th-grader Karis Hayes added a 434, and 8th-grader Emily Houseknecht tacked on a 373.

Aliyah Clink-Bentley led Watkins Glen with a 468 series.

BOYS
Waverly 3, Watkins Glen 1
Vanderpool fired a 649 series on games of 242, 200, and 207 to lead the Wolverines in a 3-1 win over Watkins Glen.

Waverly won the first game 944-772, but the Senecas pulled out an 843-827 win in the second game. The Wolverines finished off the match with an 862-810 win for a total=pinfall victory of 2,633 to 2,425.

Freshman Tristan Campbell shot a 510 for Waverly, while senior Ashton Pritchard rolled a 497, , freshman Derek Johnson had a 495, junior Trenton Sindoni added a 482, and senior Landyn Gunderson tacked on a 410.

Corbin Groves led Watkins Glen with a 581 series.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday against SVEC at the Owego Bowl.
