WAVERLY — Senior Shantilly Decker banged out a 654 series to lead Waverly to a 3-1 win over SVEC here Tuesday afternoon in a battle of IAC divisional leaders in girls bowling action.

The Lady Wolverines won the first game 854-786, but the Lady Eagles answered with an 881-841 win. However, Waverly closed the match with a 792-771 win for a 2,486 to 2,438 total-pinball victory.

Decker rolled games of 197, 244, and 213 for her match-high 654, while senior Victoria Houseknecht shot a 490, junior Rachel Houseknecht fired a 481, and sophomore Serenity Conklin had a 468.

Seventh-grader Karis Hayes added a 393 in the Waverly win, and 8th-grader Emily Houseknecht tacked on a 365.

Kaitlyn Floyd led SVEC with a 623, and Janelle Marsh added a 546

Waverly improves to 50-10, and lead Union Springs / Port Byron (49-11) by one game.

SVEC falls to 50-14. The Lady Eagles entered the match tied for first with Groton (50-10). Tioga is in third place at 49-15.

Waverly returns to action Wednesday against Tioga at the Valley Bowling Center.
