IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: WAVERLY'S WESTBROOK VOTED FIRST-TEAM DIVISIONAL ALL-STAR; THREE TEAMMATES ALSO HONORED (2023-02-15)

Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY — Waverly senior Kennedy Westbrook was recently voted a first-team IAC South Large Division all-star, while three or her teammates were also recognized in voting by the league’s girls basketball coaches.

Junior Peyton Shaw and Addison Westbrook were second-team all-star selections, and junior Paige Robinson received an honorable mention nod.

The divisional MVP was Newark Valley junior Cha Gardner.

FIRST TEAM
Kennedy Westbrook, senior, Waverly: A whirling dervish of non-stop action on the floor, Kennedy Westbrook is averaging 20.1 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. She also averages 5 steals, and 3.5 deflections per game.

Also on the first team were: Newark Valley senior Hayley Beebe, Edison junior Payton Littlefield, Notre Dame senior Shannon Maloney, and Newark Valley senior Jasmine Graham.

SECOND TEAM
Peyton Shaw, junior, Waverly: A strong low-post presence, Shaw can also step out and hit the 3. She is averaging 7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 deflections, and 3 steals per game.

Addison Westbrook, sophomore, Waverly: A deadly 3-point shooter who can also score in transition, Addison Westbrook averages 12.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. She also averages 4.3 deflections, and 4.2 steals per game.

Also on the second team were: Edison senior Gianna McGee, Notre Dame junior Mallory Sheehan, and Watkins Glen freshman Rachel Vickio.

Honorable Mention
Paige Robinson, junior, Waverly: A strong and athletic defender, Robinson is averaging 5.3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 deflections, and 4 steals per game.

Also earning honorable mention recognition were: Watkins Glen’s Jenna Solomon, Newark Valley’s Kalyna Graham, Edison’s Harper Hoffman, and Notre Dame’s Ava Mustico.
