TOWANDA — The Athens 3rd- & 4th-grade team captured the title here Saturday at the Girls Northern Tier Youth Basketball League season-ending tournament.

More than 150 girls — in grades three through six — across 14 local youth basketball programs competed in 23 games on the day.

Waverly placed fourth in the 3rd- & 4th-grade tournament, while Athens finished third in the 5th- & 6th-grade event.

3RD- & 4TH-GRADE
CHAMPIONS: Athens Wildcats
Second Place: Canton Warriors
Third Place: Towanda Black Knights
Fourth Place: Waverly Wolverines

5TH- & 6TH-GRADE
CHAMPIONS: Towanda Black Knights
Second Place: Wyalusing Rams
Third Place: Athens Wildcats
