WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: TOMASSO EARNS FIRST-TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE, SECOND-TEAM ALL-REGION HONORS (2023-03-14)

Sidney Tomasso, a sophomore on the St. John Fisher women’s basketball team, has received a pair of postseason honors.
Tomasso was voted first-team All-Empire 8 conference last week, and was named to the All-Region second team Tuesday by D3hoops.com.
Tomasso led the Lady Cardinals in scoring (14.4 points per game), shooting (47.3 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from 3-point range, and 94.3 percent from the free-throw line). In addition, she grabbed 5.1 rebounds per game, dished out 1.9 assists per game and had 1.9 steals per game.
Tomasso led the conference in free-throw shooting, was fifth in the conference in scoring, third in field goal percentage, and eighth in steals.
The D3hoops.com All-Region teams were voted on by Sports Information Directors nationwide. Players were nominated for these awards by the SIDs at the various schools — 798 players were nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.
