TIOGA'S BELLIS NAMED NWCA'S N.Y. 'ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR' (2023-03-21)

Jason Bellis has been named the 2021-22 National Wrestling Coaches Association’s New York State "
Assistant Coach of the Year."
Head coach Kris Harrington said Bellis has been an integral part of TIoga’s success since his arrival in 2018.
"Jason has made an immense impact on the Tioga wrestling program," said Harrington. "As a lifelong member of the community, he has filled every role within our program from youth coach to now being the associate head coach.
"Any time a program has success you have to look at the quality assistant coaches," noted Harrington. "From practice planning and execution, to match-day operations; Jason’s fingerprints are all over this program.
"We are extremely lucky to have him," he added.
The Tigers have won six consecutive Section IV title, and fourth straight team titles at the New York State Division 2 Championships. They’ve also won its four consecutive Section IV Duals title, and two New York State Division 2 title in a row.
In the last five seasons (since 2018-19), Tioga has sent 33 wrestlers to states, and brought home 25 state medals, including seven state champions, six runners-up, and two third-place finishers.
