Amelia Martin, a senior on the Elmira College softball team, has hit safely in three straight games, including both ends of a doubleheader sweep of Alfred State here Wednesday.
Martin stroked a single in three at-bats in a 1-0 loss at Penn College Monday.
On Wednesday, Martin was 1-for-2 with a single, two stolen bases, and two runs scored in EC’s 9-1 win over Alfred State in the opening game of the twinbill.
In the nightcap, which Elmira won 10-2, Martin singled, scored two runs, stole two bases, and had three RBI, including a two-RBI single in the third inning to give the Lady Eagles a 4-0 lead.
Martin, who has three hits in her last seven at-bats, is hitting .211 (four hits in 19 ABs) with four walks, five runs scored, three RBI, and four stolen bases.
Defensively, Martin has handled all nine defensive chances in right field without an error.
