COMPETITITVE CHEER: ELMIRA-BASED EMPIRE ROYALS ALL-STAR CHEER EARNS BID TO 'THE ONE' (2023-04-20)

ELMIRA - The Empire Royals All-Star Cheer team is in just its second year of existence, but their Junior Level 2 team is on the way to one of the most prestigious events in all-star cheer — The One.

Empire Royals JADE, a competitive cheerleading team based in Elmira, and comprised of athletes from across the Twin Tiers, will compete in ‘The One’ Cheer And Dance National Finals April 29-30 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando in hopes of being crowned THE ONE National Champion.

JADE’s first-place finish at the ‘I Love New York Championship’ in Syracuse in March earned them the coveted gold bid to the national event.

Unlike other end-of-season events, bids to THE ONE are not handed out to thousands of teams. To earn a paid-bid, a team must be among the best in their division at participating bid events to qualify.

JADE, a junior Level 2 team, is comprised of Isabella Miner of Sayre; Marlee Crum, of Mansfield; Lainey Teeter of Lowman; Leraya Teeter of Lowman; Hunter McFall of Corning; Alexandria Bixby of Corning; Kendal Narosky of Horseheads; Savannah Ryan of Horseheads; Leighton Weber of Horseheads; Sophie Dearbaugh of Horseheads; Emily Theetge of Horseheads; Gabrielle Owes of Horseheads; Claire Stevens of Horseheads; Charlie Bourgeois of Horseheads; Kamila Williams of Elmira; Emma Scriven of Elmira; Mya Hackett of Elmira; Miley Walborn of Elmira; Paisley Lord of Elmira; Saigan Tulachanh of Elmira; Brailyn Paul of Elmira; Kayla Grosso of Addison; and Autumn Nangle of Addison.
