YOUTH SOFTBALL: TIOGA HOLDS OFF SCHUYLER IN 10-7 WIN (2023-04-28)

TIOGA CENTER — Tioga jumped out to a big lead early, and held on for a 10-7 win over Schuyler here Wednesday afternoon in 12U softball action.

After Schuyler scored a run in the top of the first inning, Tioga scored five runs in the first and second innings to take a 10-1 lead.

Schuyler plated five runs in the top of the third inning to close the gap to 10-6, but Tioga held them to one run in the fourth inning to preserve the win.

Olivia Sugars earned the win for Tioga, allowing an earned run on one hit, while striking out five and walking three.

Hailey Noe closed out the game, allowing one run on one walk, while striking out two.

Taylor Sindoni doubled, scored two runs, and had two RBI, and Kyah Nelson singled, scored one run, and had two RBI to account for Tioga’s two hits, while Maddie Rogers scored one run and drove in one run.

Elaina VanFleet, Sophia Young, Kendra Goble, Haley Mae Williams Sugars, and Noe each scored one run in the win, and Mya Freese, Serenity Babcock, Liberty Magner, and Addison Landmesser each had one RBI.

Tioga returns to action Saturday when it hosts Spencer-VanEtten.
