ATHENS — A pair of Jay Carpet One pitchers combined on a three-hitter in a 7-0 five-inning win over Towanda here Monday evening in Bradford County Little League action.

Athens scored three runs in the first inning, built its lead to 5-0, then tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning.

Easton Paul fanned six and allowed three hits in four innings of work to earn the win. Jacob Saxon struck out the side in a hitless inning of relief.

Evan Westerfield singled and had two RBI, while Saxon singled and had one RBI, and Griffin Smith drove in one run to pace Athens at the plate.

Gabe Wolf, Nolan Tuttle, and Cooper Aukema each singled to account for Towanda’s three hits.
