Valley Sports ReportWYSOX — Towanda scored in every inning on its way to a 13-0 five-inning win over Waverly here Thursday afternoon in non-league softball action.
Junior Olivia Robinson stroked a two-out single in the top of the first inning, but that would be Waverly’s only hit of the game.
Brea Overpeck belted a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning, and the Lady Black Knights rolled from there, adding five runs in the second inning, one more in the third, and four runs in the fourth inning.
Shaylee Greenland tossed a 1-hitter for Towanda, striking out 11 and walking one in five innings to earn the win.
Overpeck, who capped Towanda’s five-run rally in the second inning with a two-run home run, had three hits, including the two homers, two runs scored, and five RBI, while TaeLynn Brabant had three hits, including a double, three runs scored, and one RBI, and Aleah Johnson singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in three runs.
Robinson was tagged with the loss, striking out two and walking one in four innings of work.
Waverly, now 9-9, wraps up the regular season Friday when it hosts Edison.
