ATHENS — Jay Carpet One salvaged a tie with Williams Ford on Tuesday, but suffered its first loss of the season Thursday in a 6-3 decision against Gannon Associates. They are 3-1-1 on the season in Athens Little League Majors Division action.

On Thursday, Gannon’s scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to break a 3-3 tie on its way to a 6-3 win.

E.J. Glielmi stroked three singled and had one RBI to pace Gannon’s at the plate, while Isiah Bailey and Graham Campbell each singled and drove in one run, and Shea Davidson and Aiden Briggs had one single apiece.

Shea Davidson earned the win for Gannon’s, allowing four hits in five innings on the mound, while striking out 13. Glielmi picked up the save with an inning of one-hit relief.

Carter Wells singled and had two RBI to pace Jay’s at the plate, while Evan Westerfield doubled, and Jacob Saxon and Parker Smith each added singles.

Westerfield allowed four hits in three innings, while striking out six for Jay’s, while Smith allowed two hits, and struck out two in two innings of relief.

Jay’s Carpet One 3, Williams Ford 3
On Tuesday, Jay’s Carpet One scored two runs in the sixth inning to salvage a 3-3 tie with Williams Ford. (The game was stopped due to 2-hour time limit.)

Ryan Hicks tripled, and had one RBI, while Theron May doubled and drove in one run, and Eli Wyman singled to account for Williams Ford’s three hits.

Hicks tossed five innings of no-hit ball and fanned 13, while May (one-third inning with one strikeout), and Tyler Pelchy (two-thirds inning with one strikeout) finished off the no-hitter.

Griffin Smith had one RBI with a bases-loaded walk, and Evan Westerfield had an RBI fielder’s choice.

Jacob Saxon allowed three hits in four innings, and stuck out 10 for Jay’s, while Westerfield struck out three in 1 1/3 innings, and Smith struck out one in two-thirds of an inning.
