ATHENS’ BRONSON WINS McGUIRE’S SEPTIC SERVICE GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Bronson ran a personal-best time of 11:13.44 to finish second in the 3,200-meter run at the District 4, Class AA Championships. She will run in the 3,200 Saturday at the PIAA Championships.
Sara Bronson also finished sixth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:26.19.
Sara Bronson also teamed with senior Emma Bronson, junior Thea Bentley, and freshman Ava Hughes to place sixth in the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 10:15.7.

WAVERLY’S SACKETT WINS McGUIRE’S SEPTIC SERVICE BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Sackett won the 200-meter dash, and ran strong legs on both of Waverly’s first-place relays at the IAC Championships Thursday.
Sackett won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.82 seconds. She teamed with senior Kayleb Bechy, and juniors Micah Chandler and Ralph Johnson to win the 400-meter relay in an IAC record-breaking time of 42.76 seconds. They broke their own record from the previous day’s preliminaries of 4286 seconds.
He teamed with Chandler, senior Treyton Moore, and junior Charlie Larrabee to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:28.5.
