Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Waverly and Tioga open play this afternoon in the Section IV baseball playoffs, while their respective golf teams play in the Section IV class championships for a chance to play at the state tournament.

Class B Quarterfinals
6-Lansing (10-4) at 3-Waverly (17-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 9-4 win at South Williamsport Thursday, while the Bobcats have been off since a 12-0 win over SVEC on May 11.
Earlier this season (April 10), Waverly topped Lansing, 7-1.
Class C Quarterfinals
5-Tioga (11-8) at 4-Union Springs (13-6), 4:30 p.m.: The Tigers have been off since a 9-5 loss to Dryden on April 12, while the Wolves dropped a 12-0 decision to Thomas A. Edison in the IAC Small School Championship game.
Tioga lost three times to Edison this season by scores of 21-5, 7-6, and 13-1, while Lansing beat Dryden three times by scores of 7-1, 12-2 and 9-2.
