THE VALLEY — With all the Valley baseball and softball teams eliminated from the postseason, the only events remaining — aside from the girls Section IV Golf Championships — are on the track & field. On Wednesday, it the Section IV, Class C Championships at Newark Valley.

TRACK & FIELD
Waverly at Section IV, Class C Championships, 3:30 p.m. @ Newark Valley: Waverly’s sprinters — seniors Kayleb Bechy, Jerrell Sackett, and Treyton Moore, and juniors Ralph Johnson and Micah Chandler will continue their assaults on the record books in the 100-, and 200-meter dashes, as well as the 400- and 1,600-meter relays.

For the Lady Wolverines, 8th-grader Makenzie Olmsted and sophomore Harper Minaker have been strong in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, and Minaker in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, while the 400-meter relay has been one of the fastest in the Section all season.
