COLLEGE SOFTBALL: WAVERLY GRAD ENNIS HAS THREE MULTI-HIT GAMES AT NATIONALS; CORNING CC FINISHES SECOND (2023-05-30)

SYRACUSE — Waverly grad Aubrey Ennis, a freshman on the Corning CC softball team, had milt-hits in three of five games here at the NJCAA National Tournament, where the Lady Red Barons fell in the championship game.

In the opening round, Ennis, who was batting clean-up and playing first base, doubled and singled, scored two runs, and had one RBI in an 11-2 five-inning win over Suffolk CC on Wednesday.

Later in the day, Ennis scored a run, and drove in a run in a 10-1 five-inning win over Joliet Junior College.

In the semifinals Thursday, Ennis doubled and singled, and drove in one run in a 3-2 win over the North Dakota State College of Science.

North Dakota State College of Science bounced back to win the consolation bracket finals, then beat Corning CC twice to claim the title.

In the first game Saturday, NDSCS topped Corning, 11-4. Ennis singled and drove in one run.

In the second game, North Dakota scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for a 13-12 win. Ennis singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run.

On the season, Ennis hit .380 (60 hits in 158 ABs) with seven doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 50 RBI. She also had two stolen bases.

Corning ends the season at 38-10.
