ATHENS - Athens shook off a setback in the second set, and cruised in the next two sets to earn a 3-1 win over Danville here Saturday afternoon in non-league volleyball action.

The Wildcats pulled out a 25-23 win in the first set, but the Ironmen answered with a 25-18 win in the second set to even the match.

Athens rolled to a 25-6 win in the third set, and closed out the match with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.

Junior Sydney Field led Athens with 12 setter assists, and two kills, while freshman Hannah Parrish had 11 assists, and two service aces, junior Keaton Wiles registered 10 kills and four aces, and junior Kassie Babcock had 10 kills and three aces.

Junior Ella Coyle recorded nine digs and two aces in the win, while freshman Meg Wiles had six digs and two aces, senior Izzy Davis added four kills, senior Emma Renninger had three digs, sophomore Regan McDaniel had two kills, and junior Anna Geisinger chipped in with two aces.

Athens, now 3-4, returns to action Tuesday at Williamson.
