NTL CROSS COUNTRY: SAYRE BOYS EARN WIN OVER WELLSBORO; FALL TO CANTON (2023-09-26)
Valley Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Sayre had a pair of new runners in the line-up, and earned its first win of the season, topping Wellsboro, 27-28, in NTL boys cross-country action.
Canton bested Sayre, 23-37.
In his season debut, Glenn Vanbenthuysen finished third in the tri-meet with a time of 19:27, while Hunter Kimball was fourth in 21:09, and Victor Mumo was 11 in his season debut in 23:10.
Sam Claypool finished 14th in 23:39, and Caleb Grover was 17th in 25:11.
GIRLSThere were only five runners in the girls race, which was won by Williamson’s Lauren Kosek in 20:22.
Sayre’s Rose Shikanga placed third in 26:33.
