WAVERLY - Owego showed why it is sitting near the top of the STAC Central Division volleyball standings here Tuesday night with a sweep of homestanding Waverly.

The Lady River Hawks, now 7-1, won by scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-13.

Senior Ashlen Croft led Waverly with seven service points, six kills, one block, and three digs, while senior Erica Ryck had four points, four kills, and eight digs, and senior Peyton Shaw had three points, two kills, and seven digs.

Junior Maddy Olmsted had nine setter assists, and four digs for the Lady Wolverines, while sophomore Brilynn Belles recorded eight digs, junior Lillie Kirk had seven digs, senior Lily Smith added three assists, and senior Natalie Lauper chipped in with two digs.

Lexi Herceg dished out 17 assists and added nine digs to lead Owego, while Logan Georgia recorded six kills and one block.

Shannon Maslin registered 17 digs, Maggie Hamed contributed 13 kills and Bella Miller handed out 13 assists. Emma Bryant chalked up a trio of aces.

Waverly, now 4-4, hosts Oneonta Thursday.
