THE WEEK AHEAD: N.Y. STATE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS, GIRLS STATE SWIM MEET COMPRISE SCHEDULE FOR WEEK (2023-11-13)

THE VALLEY — Once again this week, there are only three events on the docket, but all three are big ones with the N.Y. state football playoffs getting under way, and the girls swimming & diving championships on the docket as well.

FRIDAY
• Waverly’s Mira Kittle qualified for the state meet in three events (50- and 100-yard freestyle sprints, and the 100-yard backstroke), and the Wolverines will also have the 200-yard freestyle and medley relays competing as well.

• Tioga will "host" Section III champ Dolgeville at Vestal’s Dick Hoover Stadium in the Class D quarterfinals. Game time is 5 p.m.

SATURDAY
• Waverly will "host" Section III champion Adirondack at Vestal’s Dick Hoover Stadium in the Class C quarterfinals. Kick off is set for noon.

• It’s Day 2 of the New York State girls swimming championships at the Webster Aquatic Center at Webster High School.
