NTL BOYS SOCCER: CAMPBELL ATHENS' LONE FIRST-TEAM ALL-STAR; FOUR OTHER EARN RECOGNITION (2023-11-27)

ATHENS - Senior Alex Campbell was the lone Athens player named to the NTL boys soccer first-team all-star team, while four of his teammates — two second-team, and two honorable mentions — also received the postseason honor.

Senior Korey Miller and sophomore Nick Grazul earned second-team nods, while junior Marco Quiros, and senior Dash Bishop collected honorable mention recognition.

FIRST TEAM
Alex Campbell, senior, Athens: Athletic, versatile, and possessing a high soccer IQ, Campbell scored five goals and had one assist.

"An incredible defender, Alex has a great sense of the field and where he needs to be," said Athens coach Jake Lezak. "He played in multiple positions for us this year and responded to that very well.

"He is a solid utility player who understands the game and his role in each position," added Lezak. "He is a technically sound player who can control the ball very well."

SECOND TEAM
Korey Miller, senior, Athens: An extremely heady and durable player, Miller led Athens with nine assists, and tied for team-best with eight goals.

"Korey was a great utility player for us," said Lezak. "The last two seasons, he played across the midfield and up front, and adapted very well.

"Korey was one of a few guys that didn't have to step out from injury this season," he added.

Nick Grazul, sophomore, Athens: Another smart and highly-athletic player, Grazul scored three goals, and had two assists.

"Nick came to us after taking a number of years away from the sport," said Lezak. "He is a high-IQ athlete, and is very athletic. He developed as a talented midfielder right away.

"Nick understood his role in the midfield and grew stronger throughout the season," added Lezak.

Honorable Mention
Marco Quiros, junior, Athens: A speedy attacker, Quiroz shared team-high honors with eight goals and also one assist.

Dash Bishop, senior, Athens: An athletic and versatile player, Bishop had one goal and one assist.
