IAC BOWLING: TIOGA BOYS, GIRLS POST SEASON-OPENING SWEEPS OF O-M (2023-11-29)

WATKINS GLEN - The Tioga boys and girls bowling teams both opened the 2023-24 season with sweeps of Odessa-Montour here Tuesday afternoon in IAC bowling action at Harborside Lanes.

BOYS
Tioga 4, O-M 0
Nick Slater rolled a 430 series to lead Tioga to a sweep of under-manned Odessa-Montour.

The Tigers rolled a 1,749 series to easily top the Grizzlies four-man total of 1,359.

Trevor Wheeler shot a 365 for Tioga, and Charles Holmes added a 345.

Brendan Seamon led O-M with a 511 series.

GIRLS
Tioga 4, O-M 0
Kelsey Helmich rolled a 436 to lead Tioga to a 4-0 win over O-M.

The Tigers won the first and third games by more than 100 pins, but edged the Grizzlies 568-558 in the second game. They won the series by a tally of 1,719 to 1,475.

Chloe Gillette shot a 375 for Tioga, while Allie Creller added a 338, and Sam Shirley tacked on a 301.

Tioga returns to action Thursday when it hosts Sidney.
