Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER - TIoga outscored Groton, 36-16, through the middle two quarters on its way to a 55-47 win here Tuesday evening in IAC Small School junior varsity boys basketball crossover action.
Dominic Palmer scored eight points in the first quarter, and Maddux Dyson added a 3-pointer as Tioga took a 13-11 lead after the first quarter.
James Miller pumped in 13 points in the second quarter to fuel Tioga’s 19-7 run that extended the lead to 32-18 heading into the halftime locker room.
Miller scored seven points in the third quarter, and Palmer added six points in a 17-9 Tioga run that pushed the lead to 49-26 heading into the final stanza.
Groton closed the game with a 21-6 run in the fourth quarter.
Miller pumped in 22 points to lead Tioga, while Palmer scored 18 points, Derek Mills added five points, and Owen Seaver chipped in with four points.
Colsen Slade led Groton with 16 points, and Tristin Weeks added 10 points.
Tioga returns to action Friday at Moravia.
