SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Waverly grad Sidney Tomasso, a junior on the St. John Fisher women’s basketball team, helped the Lady Cardinals to a pair of wins here at the Naismith Classic over the New Year’s holiday.

On New Year’s Eve, Tomasso scored 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, had six rebounds, and four steals in 34 minutes of playing time in a 58-50 win over over Roger Williams.

On New Year’s Day, Tomasso had 22 points, four rebounds, four assists, and six steals in 32 minutes of action in an 81-61 win over William Patterson. Waverly grad Alex Tomasso knocked down her only shot from the field for two points in two minutes of playing time.

In 11 games, Sidney Tomasso is averaging 16.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. She has 21 assists, 25 steals, and two blocked shots on the season.

Alex Tomasso has played 31 minutes in seven games. She has 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one blocked shots. She also has three 3-pointers.

St. John Fisher, now 9-2, plays at Alfred University Friday night, and Elmira College Saturday afternoon.
