NTL SWIMMING: HICKS, LEONARD LEAD ATHENS BOYS TO BIG WIN OVER ELK LAKE; LADY 'CATS FALL (2024-01-06)

SPRINGVILLE, Pa. — Juniors Ethan Hicks and Josh Leonard each won four events, and a trio of their teammates — juniors Ronel Ankam and Ryan Gorman, and freshman Brayden Pettitt — were triple-winners to lead Athens in a 112-33 win over Elk Lake here Friday in boys swimming action.

Sophomores Evelyn Panek and Elizabeth Denlinger were double-winners to pace the Lady Wildcats in a 113-70 setback.

BOYS
Athens 112, Elk Lake 33
Hicks and Leonard teamed with Pettitt and Gorman to win the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:52.39

Hicks, Leonard, and Pettitt teamed with Ankam to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:40.13.

Hicks won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.5, and freshman Jacob Shores was third at 2:19.28.

Hicks also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.07 seconds, and Pettitt was second in 53.22 seconds.

Leonard won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.32, and Gorman was second in 1:10.21.

Leonard also teamed with freshman Eli Hicks, Gorman, and Ankam to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:40.35.

Pettitt won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 58.98 seconds, and Eli Hicks was second in 1:06.28.

Gorman won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:20.02, and junior Aiden Oldroyd was second in 1:28.78.

Ankam won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.69, and Eli Hicks was second in 25.06 seconds.

Freshman Dominic Musick won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:47.6.

Shores won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:31.20, and freshman Austin Quattrini was second in 6:34.58.

GIRLS
Elk Lake 113, Athens 70
Denlinger won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:39.51, and sophomore Madeline Henderson was second in 2:57.03. Denlinger also won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:21.34

Panek won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 28.25 seconds, and freshman Kaitlyn Leonard finished third in 30.72 seconds. Panek also won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:18.15, and Leonard was third in 1:27.73.

Senior Grace Cobb won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:19.07

Sophomore Kayla Marshall finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:13.76. She placed third in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:31.68.
