STAC BOWLING: WAVERLY BOYS ROLL MONSTER SERIES IN SWEEP OF SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY; LADY WOLVERINES WIN, 4-1 (2024-01-18)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — All five Waverly rolled 653 or better in a season-high series, and swept Susquehanna Valley here Wednesday afternoon in STAC boys bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Lady Wolverines won a 4-1 decision.
BOYS
Waverly 5, Susquehanna Valley 0Waverly had a pair of 700 series, and three 600 series in a sweep of Susquehanna Valley.
The Wolverines won the first game 1,100-901, then narrowly won the second 1,125-1,112. They finished off the match with a 1,237-902 win for a total-pinfall victory of 3,462 to 2,915.
Sophomore Tristan Campbell paced the Wolverines with a 746 series on games of 212, 258, 237, and senior Dom Wood fired a 707 series on games of 254, 234, and 258.
Senior Trenton Sindoni shot a 682 series on games of 223, 223, and 236, while sophomore Derek Johnson had a 674 series on games of 209, 197, and 268, and senior Carter Hayes added a 653 series on games of 202, 213, and 238.
John Bonsell led SV with a 695 series, while Coleson Steen shot a 524, and Leon Laborer added a 610.
GIRLS
Waverly 4, Susquehanna Valley 1Junior Serenity Conklin shot a match-high series to lead Waverly to a 4-1 win over Susquehanna Valley.
Waverly won the first game of the day 712-618, but SV answered with a 737-664 win in the second game.
The Wolverines won the third game 817-706 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,193 to 2,039.
Conklin rolled a 587 series, including games of 203 and 211, and 8th-grader Karis Hayes shot a 505 series.
Seventh-grader Ariel Houseknecht shot a 462 for the Wolverines, and Rylie Witman tacked on a 349.
Allisyn Bisahn shot a match-high 539 series to lead SV.
Waverly returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Chenango Valley.
