COLLEGE WRESTLING: ATHENS GRAD BRADLEY HELPS CASTLETON TO THIRD-PLACE FINISH AT NEW ENGLAND DUALS (2024-01-22)

Gavin Bradley, a sophomore on the Castleton wrestling team, was 3-0 on Sunday to help the nationally-ranked Spartans to a 3-1 record, and a third-place finish at the New England Wrestling Association Dual Championships.
Bradley scored a pin of Wesleyan University’s Chris Hong in 1:33 to give Castleton a 6-0 lead on its way to a 38-4 victory in its second match of the day.
Bradley edged Coast Guard’s Nikko Beato with a late takedown in an 8-6 win to give Castleton an early 3-0 lead. Coast Guard, ranked 13th in the nation, rallied for an 18-16 win.
Bradley finished off his day with a 16-0 technical fall in 4:22 over Springfield’s Jack Callahan. Castleton topped 23rd-ranked Springfield, 35-6.
On the season, Bradley is tied for the team lead with 26 wins, and is 26-3. He has nine falls, and five technical falls.
The Spartans, now 12-3, travel to Alvernia next weekend for a quad match on Saturday that will see them wrestling Alvernia, Trinity (Conn.) and Delaware Valley.
