NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: PELLICANO, SENESE POWER SAYRE TO 60-26 WIN OVER CANTON (16 PHOTOS) (2024-02-06)

SAYRE — Juniors Nick Pellicano and Zach Senese pumped in 20 points apiece to lead Sayre to a 60-26 rout of Canton here Tuesday night in NTL Small School Division boys basketball action.

Senese knocked down two of his four 3-pointers in the first quarter, and scored 19 points, and Pelicano added four points as Sayre opened the game with a 14-5 run in the opening eight minutes.

Pellicano scored seven points, including an old-fashioned three-point play, in the second quarter, and sophomore Karter Green added a 3-pointer to fuel a 17-5 that extended the Redskin lead to 31-10 at the halftime intermission.

Senese drained two more 3-pointers, and scored eight points in the third quarter, and Pellicano added seven points in a 23-9 run that pushed the Sayre advantage to 54-17 heading into the final eight minutes.

Pellicano had eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots to go along with his 20 points, while Karter Green added five points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals, senior Tanner Green had four points, 12 rebounds, and two steals, and sophomore Dalton Forest had four points, three assists, three stars, and one blocked shot.

Junior Hudson Trump pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds, and had two assists, two steals, and five blocked shots, and junior Ryan Ressler grabbed 1 boards, and blocked four shots.

Ben Fitch led Canton with 10 points.

Sayre, now 10-11, wraps up the regular season at home Thursday against Cowanesque Valley.
